Notes for gauge 0 are generally applicable to gauge 1.
This gauge was prevalent in the early 1900s and was the preserve of the well-to-do. It was steadily displaced by the more affordable gauge 0 which in turn gave way to smaller scales as more of the population bought ever-smaller houses.
