Eventually one customer bought sideframes alone to repair a Bassett-Lowke bogie, to which ours bore a good resemblance. Thus inspired we shortened our wheelbase to match B/L and journalled the axles in the steel stretcher. These bogies will now accept wheelsets with either static or rotating axles. For a modest surcharge we will increase the journal diameter for axles thicker than 2.5mm - please enquire.

Note that the B/L bogie was inside-framed. Ours is not.

We will supply the longer wheelbase as default unless you specify ‘B/L type’.

To mount each bogie we shall include a button-head screw, a large and a small washer and a Nyloc-type nut. Our idea is that you put the large washer between bogie and chassis, small washer under the nut and tighten to allow free movement with minimal rock. At one end you may choose to leave a slacker mounting to accommodate unevenness in the track.
